Jasper Cable-Alexander • Bio
Nostalgia, timeless and cool and unique quirky edge. Like a fashion photographer who loves weird stuff.
Jasper lives and breathes film. He made his first stop-motion short at 12 and has worked full-time in the industry since 17, creating distinctive worlds that feel surreal, cinematic and sharply observed, often with a dry sense of humour running underneath.
He spent years working as a second unit director for Rankin while simultaneously directing music videos for underground bands and writing treatments for some of the industry’s leading directors — developing a visual style that feels both meticulously crafted and instinctively cool.
Jasper landed his first commercial after accidentally breaking his suitcase, sparking an ongoing chain of texts and emails with the company’s CEO, who eventually invited him to write and direct the brand’s next campaign — after fixing the suitcase first, obviously.
In his still alarmingly short career, Jasper has already received international recognition, including winning the inaugural Bolt Award for Innovation and Best Creative at the Young Arrows 2024. His work has been featured by The Face, Rolling Stone, the British Film Institute, Boiler Room and Vogue Italia, with one film surpassing 21 million views.
Following a freak accident, Jasper lost partial vision in one eye and now has the retina of an 86-year-old woman. We like to think it explains the nostalgic quality of his work.
